Reinforcement controlling and modifying employee behaviour through the use of systematic rewards and punishments for specific behaviours. 2 process: define the specific behaviour managers want their employees to have, and the behaviour they want to eliminate. 4 basic option: positive, punishment, omission- withhold pos consequences when employee exhibit undesirable beh, negative- withhold neg con when employee exhibits desirable beh. Goal-setting theory people perform better when they set specified, quantified, time-framed goals.
