Sigmund freud was a pioneer in the study of personality and the treatment of psychological disorders, however many of his theories are heavily criticized. Belief that personality and behaviour are shaped by powerful forces in consciousness, much of which is hidden from our awareness in the unconscious. Everything we think, feel, and do results from psychological dynamics that are so deeply buried in our unconscious that we have no direct access to them. Unconscious mind holds all your memories and experiences, even the ones you can no longer bring into conscious awareness. Conscious mind is a small fraction of the entire pscyhe. Unconscious mind is the primary driver of our behaviours. Freudian slips are slips of the tongue that re ect the workings of the unconscious.
