Attitudes affect actions attitude feelings, often influenced by our beliefs, that predispose us to respond in a particular way to objects, ppl, and events the traffic b/w attitude and actions is two-way. When we explain our own behaviour or the behaviour of those we know, we are sensitive to how behaviour changes w/ situation. Point to remember: our attributions have real-life consequences. Peripheral route persuasion influenced by incidental cues: does not engage systematic thinking central route persuasion interested ppl focus on the arguments and respond w/ favourable thoughts, more likely to influence behaviour. Actions affect attitudes attitudes also follow behaviour; ppl stand up for what they have stood up for. The foot-in-the-door phenomenon foot-in-the-door phenomenon tendency for ppl who have first agreed to a small request to comply later w/ a larger request. To get ppl to agree to something big, start small and build.
