Document Summary

Humans stress environment due to interaction of population growth, development of new technologies, affluence and consumption. Percent of people living in cities have grown: this trend will continue to grow, kind of eases pressures on the environment: per capita. Humans appropriate a high proportion of the global rate for own use. Growth in human population size, increasing levels of per capita resource consumption by humans due to increasing affluence, development of new technologies to support resource consumption by humans. Yes; the proportion of people living in cities has been steadily increasing in recent years. Population growth up to the present in exponential growth, the population as a whole grows at an accelerating rate, simply because the growth rate is a product of the individual rate (which is constant) With growing urbanization and industrialization, growth accelerated and was faster than exponential, recently it has slowed. Predicting the future ecological populations, like all, ours is heterogeneous.
