Unsolicited application letter - an application letter for a prospecting job, one that the employer hasn"t announced. An application letter: mirrors the language of the job posting, has a first sentence that grabs attention by indicating knowledge of the company and its industry, opening paragraph identifies job being applied to. Gives the recipient a reason to keep reading: discussion of skills echoes qualifications of job posting.
