Simple sugar glucose stored in high molecular weight = polysaccharides. Reducing sugars exist as a ring or chain (aldehyde = aldose) Reducing sugar present if the blue solution develops a coloured precipitate (yellow/green/red/brown) 4cu+ + 2oh + 2e 2 cu2o + 2h + 2e.
