Firewall is a heavy sheet between the main structure and the engine, with small openings for control lines and fuel. Fuel tank must be behind the firewall and the oil tank must be ahead of it. Fuel tanks can be carried in the wings or in the fuselage: undercarriage (landing gear) The purpose of landing gear is to take the shock of landing and also to support the weight of the airplane and allowing it to maneuver on the ground.
