Sharing autobiographical memories can be a pleasant and socially supporive acivity: important role in creaing and maintaining our self-representaion, help us to cope with adversity. Autobiographical has a number of diferent funcions that are diicult to separate into diferent categories in actual pracice. Diaries: it is diicult when studying autobiographical memory to know what was iniially experienced. When was much less eicient: some items are remembered (associated with a feeling of recogniion) others are just known (aren"t recognized) True events are more likely to evoke a remember response. Events are more likely to be recalled than thoughts.
