Reflected in our behaviour we trust our vision over any sense. Form perception process through which you manage to see the basic shape and size of an object. Object recognition process through which you identify what the object is. It is easy to recognize an object, perhaps a shoe, a book, etc but the steps of object recognition are crucial. Object recognition is essential whenever you want to apply your knowledge to the world. Object recognition begins with detection of simple visual features. Early 1900s gestalt psychologists noted that our perception of the visual world in ways that the stimulus input is not. Gestalt movement was committed to the view that our theories need to emphasize the organization of the entire shape, and not just focus on the shape"s parts. Argues prganization must be contributed by the perceiver.
