Control of reinforcers of the behavior that is to be decreased. Combining exincion with posiive reinforcement for actual behaviors. The seing in which exincion is carried out. One reason for changing the seing in which operant exincion is being carried out is to minimize the possibility that others will reinforce the behavior that you are trying to decrease. Another reason is that is may be socially diicult or impossible to carry out operant exincion in certain situaion. The schedule of reinforcement before exincion is carried out. Behavior being exinguished may get worse before it gets beter during exincion, behavior may increase behavior it decreases exincion burst: an increase in responding during exincion. Others who are less knowledgeable about operant exincion may undo the work of behavior modiiers. Strategies to maintain desirable behavior and thereby prevent unwanted operant exincion are described in chp 16.
