The scientific method (a way to answer questions that require empirical research. Begin with curiosity: on the basis of theory. Develop a hypothesis: a hypothesis is a specific prediction that can be tested. Test the hypothesis: design/collect research to gather empirical evidence which is evidence based on data from scientific observation or experiments, not theoretical. Replication (repetition of a study using different participants) is sometimes the 6th step, it is important that results come out the same for a study to be reliable. Nature refers to the traits, capacities and limitations that each individual inherits genetically from parents at the time of conception b. Nurture general term for the environmental influences that affect development after an individual is conceived.
