The people maximized the bene ts of limed resources which include: land that allowed certain crops (grapevines, olives, wheat, barley), pasture land (sheep, goats, pigs, donkeys, mules, sometimes cattle & horses), mineral deposits (iron, copper, limestone, marble, silver)
