Choose one group from the following list of Kindoms/Phyla/Classes:
Kingdom - Protista, Fungi, Plantae
or
Phylum - Porifera, Cnidaria, Mollusca, Platyhelminthes, Nematoda, Annelida, Arthropoda, Echinodermata
or
Classes â Fish (generalized group, includes Class Chondrichthyes, cartilaginous fish; and Class Osteichthyes, bony fish), Amphibians, Reptiles, Aves (birds), Mammals
After choosing one of the taxonomic groups, find at least three reliable sources for information pertaining to your chosen group. You may use websites of societies, organizations, research sites, National Geographic (and other related magazine/news sites) or other website types as approved by your instructor. Web videos from Youtube, NOVA, National Geographic or other approved videos are also permissible and encouraged.
Once you have gathered your resources, write your three paragraph synopsis of the group. The first paragraph should summarize the general characteristics of the group (morphology, habitats/niches, evolution, etc.). The second paragraph should discuss their importance to humanity and/or the ecosystem. For the third paragraph, explain the effects humans have had on the diversity of your chosen group.
