To a greater or lesser extent, political organizations use religion to legitimize their power: un centralized systems, people give loyalty and cooperation because everyone participates in decision making, centralized systems, rely in part on force and coercion, although these may lessen the system"s effectiveness. Un centralized political systems: marrige, kindships from the prinicipal means of social organization, economies of these groups are of substance type, populations are small, leaders do not have the power to force compliance with the society"s customs or laws, though if individuals do not conform they may become targets of gossip or ostracized, decisions are made by consensus of the adult group. Is responsible for panning when and where the group will move: choosing the next settlement, may plan a role in organizing hunting parties, trading expeditions, gift giving and marriage arrangements, un centralized tribes state.
