The concept that the spirit is released from the body upon death and has continued existence. These people are seen to have a continued active interest and even membership in the society. Found greatly in places with unilineal lines of descent. Animism one of the most wide spread beliefs. The belief in sprit beings though animate nature, nature is animated by spirits. Animatism a belief that the world is animated by impersonal supernatural powers.
