Aggression is the intentional behaviour aimed at causing either physical or psychological pain. Hostile aggression an act of aggression stemming from feelings of anger, aimed at inflicting pain or injury. Instrumental aggression aggression as means to some other goal than causing pain (ie; football players tackling each other to prevent the opposing team from getting the ball) Men commit more physical acts of aggression while women commit more emotional acts (theft, gossiping, starting rumors. Men also target other men likely in bars, clubs, and the men are typically strangers. Too much testosterone is associated with physical aggression although the research on this is still highly debated. Alcohol, pain, and discomfort can all be physiological influences on aggression. Frustration-aggression theory: the theory that frustration the perception that you are being prevented from obtaining a goal -will increase the probability of an aggressive response.
