In order to deal with the sheer volume of information that comes before cabinet along with the amount of decisions needed to be made, the cabinet gets help provided by central agencies. Central agencies are part of the bureaucracy whose main or only purpose is to support the decisions made by the cabinet. Concretely, this means that they perform functions such as providing. Cabinet with needed information, applying cabinet decision to other parts of the bureaucracy and communicating cabinet decisions and their implications to the public. There are four central agencies, and these are: department of finance. Plays a lead role in the formation of economic policy. It has what amounts to exclusive authority over the preparation of the revenue budget, budget speeches, and economic statements delivered in. Finance has tremendous influence, even when a new policy originates elsewhere it is unlikely to reach any legislation stage if finance opposes.
