Alcohol related fatalities in the us dropped from 23 626 in 1988 to 17 858 in 1992. Experimental: basic research, often with animals in a lab. Applied: practical research and treatments to solve a problem in the real world. Experimental analysis of behavior: basic scientific research on the functional relationship between environmental events and resulting behavior.
