The mind/body argument put forth by descartes (interacionism) separates the mind and body as beings that interact/inluence each other: descartes believed that the pineal gland (a site in the middle of the brain) was the source of thought. Huxley argues epiphenomenalism by suggesing that the mind is a simple by product of the brain and that it has no inluences on behavior. Held popularly by gestalt (meaning form or coniguraion) psychologists.
