Memory is the capacity to retain and retrieve information and also the structures that account for capacity. Henry molaison (referred to as h. m) is a famous man who was studied to further our understanding of memory. In an attempt to remedy uncontrollable seizures he suffered from epilepsy, surgeons removed a large portion of his hippocampus and some of the amygdala. This lessened the seizures but also stuck him in the past. He was unable to identify his own aging face and could only. The manufacture of memory, p. 363 recall new events for 15 minutes. It is popularly believed that memory is like a video camera that shows vivid encounters of memories when needed yet this view is extremely incorrect. The truth to memory is that, at most, it is unconnected frames. Most of our memories are not made of our own recollection but rather our encounter, another persons encounter of our encounter, and various other sources.
