One thing that i have noticed trent university does that impacts the environment is use baseboard heaters in residence. While baseboards are effective, they use a lot of electricity to power. This causes a higher expense but also a higher use of energy. As an ecologically friendly school, we should be aware of and monitoring the amount of energy we use. Trent housing services already has put ideas into effect for conserving energy in residential dormitories. If trent wanted to minimize energy usage, they could replace the baseboard heaters with portable space heaters. Space heaters take up less energy and can be managed by the student, as they need it. This change can minimize cost and energy usage and help our environment. The more energy we can conserve, the better!
