Reading response toxic sublime: imaging contaminated landscapes. Jennifer peeple"s toxic sublime raises the idea of photography altering the significance and message of a landscape or environmental issue either inadvertently or intentional. In this, she comments on the different planes of reality that each photograph and recreation generates. She quotes a note from struken and cartwright when they state that a photographer always inevitably creates an interested version of reality (110). The idea that any mechanical reproduction of a landscape, scene, idea, etc. weaken their effectiveness is more than prominent contemporarily.
