How she feels like she is an outcast. The mothers and children are effected back this but they cannot do anything about it. The flowers being stained with blood portraying violence without people; not talking about the bodies of people. Using imagery to her advantage making her point through that. Bringing nature poetry into the foreground engaging the senses. Some people questioning why she is always talking about herself. The personal pronoun i is very present here. Working through her own sympathy and what she is feeling. Feeling this way because she has gone through it in her own way. A lot of honesty here taking a lot of risks. Having to write for her living because she has no other options. Connecting her own story to other people"s stories. The importance of story telling a conscious act; knowing someone"s story to be able to tell it.
