Socialization is an area of sociological study that brings the discipline close to psychology. A learning process that one involves learning how to be a social person in a given society, and it brings changes in an individual"s sense of self. Primary socialization: earliest socialization that an individual undergoes in childhood. Determinism: degree to which an individual"s behaviour, attitudes , and other personal characteristics are determined, or caused, by a specific factor. Agency: involves personal choice about and beyond the call of nature or nature. Biological determinism: the side of nature in the old nature versus nurture debate. States that greater part of what we are is determined by our roughly 26,000 genes. Notorious research study into the xxy males that began in 1962. Standard pattern of chromosomes in men is xy. Standard pattern of chromosomes in females is xx. Xxy chromosome pattern was found dangerous, violent, or criminal patients with emotional/intellectual problems.
