Political culture can be analyzed by looking at nature of political discourse used in political life to discuss & make use of key terms. In many countries there are diff subcultures based on groupings. Democracy involves various processes & institutions such as elections, political parties. Often suggested that democratic political culture needed if democracy is to be sustained. Political culture can be classified in terms of 3 basic types. Parochial cultures - most people largely unaware of political system, do not have much in way of expectations about what gov should do, do not participate in politics. Subject political cultures - citizens exhibit awareness of politics system & policies gov adopts but not oriented to trying to affect policies.
