Ban name judaea, now syria palaestina origin of name of palestine. When roman empire fell apart, jews left in various states suffering, why wanted own state: anti-semitism. Anti-semitism came b/c jews diff from everyone else, kept their tradition (passover) & etc. Encouraged in middle ages by christian church, jews blamed for murder of jesus.
