Structural brain imaging: computer tomography (ct) or computed axial-tomography (cat) Medical diagnosic test that combines x-ray with computer technology. Obtain image of brain from every angle = produce 3d image in computer. In forensic science, it is used to recreate a skull, which can be used for facial reconstrucion. Most available & cheapest but subject is exposed to e=rays which can be damaging. Small brain structures are diicult to individualize: studies using computer tomography. 4 studies ind structural diferences in brain in control and study but 4 other studies did not show any signiicant diferences in brain structures. Studies have shown that even mind head injuries in children can result in higher levels of behavioral problems, including aggressive and anisocial behavior, than in non-injured children. Frontal lobe damage may be associated with violent ofending and rape, while temporal lobe dysfuncion may have more relaion to other types of sexual ofences such as incest and pedophilia.
