Learning takes place by observing others being reinforced or punished for prosocial or antisocial behaviours. Why do we care? theories of crime can be sued to organize complex ideas, establish hypotheses to test and lead to research ndings to bene t society. Theory might allow researchers to understand why intervention works or how it can be improved these theories provide alternative explanations for crime than biological or evolutionary. Methodology: cross-sectional research researchers examine different groups of individuals to determine if certain risk factors are more associated with one group than the other (ie: criminals and non criminals) If yes, factor under examination is said to be associated with criminality: cannot say it causes it.
