Glib - smooth words, but shallow & insincere. Psychopaths have narcissistic & grossly inflated view of self-worth & importance. Seem unable to believe other people have valid opinions diff from theirs. Often embarrassed about legal, financial, personal problems. Psychopaths often show stunning lack of concern for devastating effects actions have on others. Calmly state they have no sense of guilt, not sorry for pain & destruction caused, no reason for them to be concerned. Associated w/ remarkable ability to rationalize behavior & shrug off personality for actions causing shock & disappointment. Psychopaths frequently see themselves as real victims. Many of characteristics displayed by psychopaths are closely associated w/ lack of empathy. Indifferent to rights & suffering of family members & strangers alike. Some normal individuals develop degree of insensitivity to feelings & plight of specific groups of people to survive physically & psychologically.
