H1n1 was a new flu discovered that had the same symptoms of bird & swine flu. Center for disease control requested information on the areas and people who"d been infected but by the time information got to people it was already weeks old. Google authors published a journal called nature , which explained how google could predict the spread of winter flu down to specific regions and states. Company did this by watching what people were searching for on the internet. Google helped the cdc by making a program that broke down searches to 45 terms that when used in a mathematical order showed that people had flu symptoms. Like the cdc google could track who had the flu , but did it in a quicker duration. This brought the big data idea where society had the ability to gather mass information to produce useful insight for goods and services.
