Power = potential ability of person/group to exercise control over another person/group. Position power = tied to position, regardless of indiv who holds it. Org politics = activities ppl perform to acquire, enhance, use power & other resources to obtain preferred outcomes in situation where uncertainty/disagreement exists. Most managers do not advocate use of political behaviour but acknowledge its necessity. Cannot eliminate political activity in org, must learn to cope w/ it. Req of understanding how to manage political behaviour. Org justice = perceptions of ppl in org regarding fairness. 4 forms: distributive, procedural, interpersonal, information.
