Affinity = formed by org, composed of employees at same level & doing similar jobs. Come together regularly to share info & discuss org issues: mutual acceptance, communication & decision making, motivation & productivity, control & organization. 9 foundations of interpersonal and group behaviour. Group = 2+ ppl who interact such that they influence one another. Challenges of group decision making: location, resources, time & goal interdependence, task uncertainty, task interdependence. These bases create interactions & determine their characteristics. Group"s task & setting have effect on group behaviour. Norms = help ppl function & relate to one another in predictable & efficient ways. Cohesiveness: facilitate group survival, simplify & make more predictable behaviours of group members, help group avoid embarrassing situations, express central values of group & identify group to others. I. e. freq of interaction, volume of info exchanged, etc.
