Workforce diversity = important similarities & diff among employees of orgs. Primary dimension of diversity: age, ethnicity, gender, physical abilities/qualities, race and sexual orientation. Secondary dimension: edu background, location, income, marital status, religious beliefs, work experiences, etc. Technological change major driver for other forms of org change. Corporate governance = oversight of public corp by bod. Growing use of tech for competitive adv. Can lead to stereotypes, then to prejudice. Bod should have sufficient independent from firm to carry out oversight function. Rapid changes in business relationships, org structures, financial sys all pose difficulties in keeping accurate track of company"s financial position. Knowledge workers = add value to orgs b/c of what they know.
