According to the model, communicaion lows through channels between the sender and receiver. Feedback can be formal acknowledgement or indirect evidence. Intended feedback is encoded, transmited, received and decoded from receiver to sender of original message. Noise: psychological, social, & structural barriers that distort and obscure the sender"s intended message. Similar codebooks: dicionaries of symbols, language, gestures, idioms, and other tools used to convey info. With similar codebooks paricipants encode and decode accurately because they have the same meaning. Communicaion eiciency also improves because there"s less redundancy. Message encoding proiciency: some people are beter at communicaing because they have learned which words and gestures transmit message best to audience. You slowly learn which symbols, voice intonaions, and other features transmit the message beter than others.
