Interdisciplinary became dominant trend in food societies and journals: in the 1980s and 1990s, Atkins and bowler classified contributions to this interdisciplinary field into categories such as historical, cultural and sociological post modern and post structuralist and food systems approaches. Avakian and haver used categories of colonialism, political economy, globalization, history, popular culture and sociocultural analyses to capture the trends associated with research on food and women: problems with interdisciplinary food research. Focused on food for reasons related to other research agendas such as looking at the food industry to demonstrate a theoretical perspective on the new international division of labour or globalization of economy . Disciplinary field would emerge only when researchers saw food from production to consumption important itself without proving another dynamic theory. The integrating capacity of food studies: food studies is a fusion of the social sciences and humanities realm with the world of science and technology- methodologies and traditional approach.
