The growth in internet shopping brings a need for packaging to be robust to survive the mail order delivery system. Packaging influences the convenience in use of a product and is instrumental in selling the product. To understand the functions of the pack is essential to define the product in terms of its nature, critical properties and value. Prevent dangerous leakage or loss of parts containment also means keeping a number of different or the same items packed together. 3. 2. 1 evaluating the containment function it is the role of the packaging technologist to ensure that the required characteristics are designed at the development stage. Leak testing should be carried about during development. Protection means the prevention/reduction of physical damage to the product, during all stages of its life. Protection against physical damage is important for all products, not just the fragile componenets but also plastics, paper and etc.
