High pressure systems bring little to no rainfall, low pressure systems is the opposite. Hot or warm air which is forced to rise condenses to form rain and so it is characterized by heavy rainfall and dense vegetation. Cold ocean current affects land mass by pulling it down, many cold ocean currents denser in weight, characterized by descending air mass, ex cold canary current, cold benguela current, and peruvian current. California current cold and responsible for the sonoran desert in north america.
