Though many argue that the dawn of the internet has made obsolete the medium of tv, tv is still a major societal force, especially in times of crisis. Tv anchors can provide instant commentary and graphics to tell a story. Similarly, the amount of respect and power that comes with being a news anchor is yet unparalleled by any other medium. This wasn"t always the case, however, as the early days of newscasting was little more than a person reading off of a script designed for newspaper or radio. In reality, production value was so low that the respect for such professions was practically nonexistent. The only thing that television news had going for them at this time was the incorporation of motion picture newsreels. Movie theatres originally had a lineup of sorts that was adhered to that included a large variety of components.
