Chaplin: chaplin acted, sang and directed his own movies, thoughtful politics wise, critical about politics, made fun of his own character which gave him more individuality, did not support capitalism. You produce, so you can produce more, so you can produce more : based on the movie watched in class, known as a working-class tramp from europe, realism filmmaker; focused more on day-to-day living. Lacked emotions and expression but made up for it through his resourcefulness in his film and imagination: classic american man, formalist filmmaker; abstract focused. Loved to work with cinematic machinery and cinematic space.
