On cronus"s side were the titans, with the exception of themis/clymene and her son prometheus, both of whom allied with zeus. This battle, known as the titanomachy, lasted ten years, the gods fighting from mt. It was a great one, but zeus was victorious. The hecatonchires guarded the titans, which were imprisoned in tartarus. Atlas was punished with the task of holding up the sky. The gigantomachy: zeus defeats the giants and typhoeus. Zeus also had to face the threat from the giants.
