Community courts, drug courts, mental health courts, etc. ) Offenders may avoid incarceration by abiding to specific conditions. 3 attributes of p-s courts are: focus on addressing the underling problem of offenders, victims and communities, interagency and interdisciplinary collaboration, accountability to community. Courts have potential to improve quality of life in community, increase family familiarity to court processes and improve community satisfaction w/ response to persons in conflict. Rehabilitation is focus, personalized, collaborative, offender focused, problem focused.
