For many children, even the loss of a pet can be devastating. Responses to death are influenced by the nature of the relationship with the deceased. Discussing death often causes discomfort: societal discomfort with death is still evident in the way dying people are often treated. The mother may experience extreme guilt along with many other emotions associated with grieving. family members and friends did not have a chance to know the baby, and therefore they do not feel the loss in the same way. Adult psychological responses to grief five stages in the grieving process: shock and denial. Shock usually refers to the initial reaction following the death of somebody close. involves feeling numb or not being able to believe that the death has occurred: anger and protest. Mourner may cry a lot, have a difficult time sleeping, and try to bargain to get the loved one back: bargaining.
