Clinical assessment: the systematic evaluation & measurement of psychological, biological & social factors in an individual presenting with a possible psychological disorder. Diagnosis: the process of determining whether the particular problem afflicting the individual meets all the criteria for a psychological disorder, as set forth in the dsm-5. Standardization: the process by which a certain set of standards or norms is determined for a technique to make its use consistent across different measurements: standards might apply to procedures of testing, scoring, & evaluating data. Can have less structure in order to have more of an informal conversation. Medical history: sense of genetic predispositions, conditions that might affect mental health. Developmental history: when they acquired certain milestones (ex. walk, talk, toilet train, early attachment with parents, social interactions) Family history: sense of genetic predispositions of disorders, ex. Could predispose through learning of family member"s coping strategies.
