Who am i? understanding the building blocks of personality. Personality is a combination of genetics, traits, neuroscience, human evolution, self and identity, regulation, motivation, and cognition. Includes external factors as well like social and enviromental forces: traits. A personas typical way of thinking, feeling and acting in different situations. Traits can develop from socialization and personal experience. Traits will be consistent and will be expressed in different ways. Ocean - openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. The study of how genes and environment affect personality and behaviour. Inherit personality characteristics: genetics, neuroscience, evolutionary forces, self and identity. The study of how our brain and nervous system affect personality and behaviour through the study of bodily responses, brain structure, brain activity, and biochemical activity. Behaviour and traits have improved the survival of species. Includes our own sense of who we are including our self concept, self esteem, and social identity: intrapsychic foundations of personality.
