Topic 01: what is psychology and what do psychologist do. Behaviour: a behaviour is any action that can be observed, recorded, and measured. Most of the areas studied by psychologist are related to biology-why human and non-human animals behave the way they do-but that also include the role of mental processes involved in behaviour. Many psychologists are clinical, and their job include diagnosing and treating people with mental disorder. Not all psychologists work within the field of therapy. Some psychologist work as researchers and teachers at university. Other non-academic, non-clinical psychologists work in various industries, including advertising, communications, business, human resources, governmental and community organization. A psychologist study how we think, feel and behave from a scientific point of view. They apply this knowledge to help people understand and explain change in their behaviour. Psychologist engage in research, practice and teaching across a wide range of topics having to do with how people think, feel and behave.
