Week after wwii starts, gestapo arrived and 11,500 ostjuden (eastern jews) living in the reich arrested and sent them to concentration camps as enemy aliens. April 1939 german landlords permitted to evict jewish tenants. Following month, whole urban districts cleared of jews - party officials and ordinary germans claimed.
