A well-designed graph summarizes a large amount of information: as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Treatment group with student incentives: students receive for each month. Treatment group with parents incentives: students parents would receive for each month special academic standards were met by their child. Is a circle split into slices of different sizes: area of each slice represents the relative importance of non-overlapping parts that add up to the whole. Bar chart: uses bars of different heights or lengths to indicate the properties of different groups. Is a variable whose value does not depend on another variable. In experiment it is manipulated by the experimenter. Is a variable whose value depends on another variable. Time series graph: displays data at different points in time, pie and bar can summarize how a variable is broken up into different groups, time series to understand how a variable changes overtime.
