Document Summary

Although both behaviourists and cog psychologists - concerned with both sensory and perceptual elements they are different. Behaviourists don"t want to think about the perceptual processing from the sensory inputs, (they ignore the black box - the brain) and only study overt behaviour. Whereas, the cognitivists study what the mind/brain is doing with the incoming sensory information. Cognitive psychology: believe that behaviourists are missing a lot of pieces and don"t have a good understanding of animal behaviour > how can they understand human. When this advent of modern computing took place, it gave cognitive psychologists a metaphor for the way our brain functions (incoming information > storage & retrieval) Decision making / how does the actor act. > humans are the smartest of the kingdom. ** humans learned to make tools / weapons from stone, we learned how to make re then the wheel we created a language etc. Language development is apart of the cultural revolution .
