Many have likened globalization to the term americanization, and the spread of. Westernism and capitalism to the east, casting the west vs. the rest theme. Globalization is a complex and uneven dynamic linking the local, regional, and national to the global as well as the west to the east and north to the south. Globalization has been used in popular press and academia to describe a process, a condition, a system, a force, and an age. ^^^^these labels have very different meanings and their use is often obscure and invites confusion.
