There are degrees of peace, peace and war exist side by side with varying degrees; peace is not absolute. There are varying degrees like positive and negative peace, treaties, cease fires. There is no 1 definition that"s what the reflective paper was all about. Inner peace is peace within an individual and outer peace is peace with groups and society. Therefore, needing to restructure those institutions and ideologies to ensure they dont cause any psychological harm. There needs to be a discipline which aims to understand violence and its negation by conflict transformation ( negative peace") and peace-building by cooperation and harmony ( positive peace"). To advance this task, peace studies must draw from many scientific disciplines. This raises the problem of the complementarity, coexistence and integration among different systems of knowledge. Yes, forms of structural violence are forms of violence. Economic/class/gender issues may lead to more conflict among those affected parties, leading to other forms of violence.
